The New England Patriots have had the chance for Super Bowl glory over the course of six seasons. Here is a look back at some of the thrilling victories and crushing disappointments.

After starting the season at 2-3, the Patriots lost starting quarterback Tony Easton to an injury midseason. Easton was replaced by backup QB Steve Grogan (pictured), who connected with wide receivers Stanley Morgan and Irving Fryar, among others. A wild card team, the Pats won three consecutive playoff games on the road, culminating with a win over the Miami Dolphins; an especially impressive feat considering the Pats had lost in their last 18 trips to Miami.
